Summer Camping Trip

All summer long we've been saying "we need to go camping." And then last weekend Dusty followed through and organized our summer camping trip. We went to Pawnee Lake, which is about 10 minutes from the edge of Lincoln. Dusty spent all of Friday getting things ready. The car was packed, the kids were excited and they headed to the campgrounds. I joined them after work and we got settled in for the weekend. Our site was right next to the water.

We played some games,
did some fishing,
kept our campsite clean,
went for a walk to enjoy the scenery,
and went swimming.

Of course our camping trip wouldn't have beeen complete without 'smores.
We had a great time and can't wait for next year's camping trip.

Oh the Days are so packed!

With July well on its way, it seems appropriate to be posting pictures of some of the summer fun we've been having. Enjoy!
Another successful Trail Trek ride this year. Jonathan rode 10 miles on his own bike, while Johanna and Tinkerbell enjoyed riding in the bike trailer.
Jonathan was so excited for the 4th of July this year. Papa and Gramma Wally visited for the day and helped us celebrate. Not even the rain could keep Jonathan from shooting off his fireworks.

Summer fun in the pool!

A trip to the zoo always includes a stop at the butterfly pavilion. And on occasion we run into a few celebrities there-this is Johanna posing for a picture with one of the Super Why characters.

Every Wednesday Dusty takes the kids to Pioneers Park nature center for "Animal Antics." They learn about a different animal every week. Sometimes the get to see the animals up close.

We took our first jaunt out to the Spring Creek Audubon Prairie this summer. What a great place. We walked around on the prairie trails and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. It doesn't get much better than this!
